If you were not able to be with us tonight, you missed a special treat. First of all, none of the 46 ladies who came had to cook or bring anything. The Boy Scouts, with the help of Andi Hooper, provided our meal tonight. It was a wonderful “Hobo Meal” and if you have never had one, it was delicious. If that wasn’t enough, since our theme was camping, we were given an open fire to roast marshmallows for our s’mores. YUM!
Vickie Gray told us about the Beth Moore Bible study that she is going to lead beginning September 12th for six weeks. I have sent you the email, but I wanted to remind you if you want to come to let Vickie know so she will know how many workbooks to order. These will be provided by the church so all you have to do is come. Our speaker tonight was Keri Hicks. Keri is a regular at our 4G’s meetings and we were blessed to hear her message to us tonight. I am always inspired by the ladies who give us their personal testimony. It takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of a group of women and tell your deepest secrets and hurts. That is what Keri did for us this evening. She told us of times in her life when she was deeply hurt, a time that she exchanged the life she knew for a life of night clubs and living life away from God, she told us the pain of choices she made that still give her pain even now. As tears came to Keri’s eyes, you could feel her pain, but you could also feel the joy as she continued to talk about the life she has now. Keri changed her life with the help of friends, family, and her husband who helped her find her way back to God. She gave us many verses from the Bible that tell us about what God will do for us and His mercy and grace. God will always accept us if we turn back to Him and ask for forgiveness. In God’s eyes, we are “Flawless”. So you know what you missed tonight, so put us on your calendar now for September 13th. It will be “Apple Butter Time in Tennessee.” We have heard her before, so we are excited to have Becca Mabry deliver our message. Our mission will be the 818 Ministry. Best of all, we are having another Pot Luck night so bring whatever you want to bring, but if you bring a dessert, it has to be made with apples. I know you want to be there so I will send out a reminder just in case you forget. Count your Blessings, Linda “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” In those days when you pray, I will listen. Jeremiah 29:11-12
