We were blessed with 2 speakers tonight. The first we all know from 818 Ministries. 818 has been our mission in the past and again tonight. Rebecca Dotson had a vision to help those going through a battle with cancer and chemotherapy. One of the main purposes for 818 is to knit or make hats for them and give loving notes to each one to show them there are others who care about them and what they are going through. She gave the glory to God tonight for the growth of 818 Ministries, She had the thought and He made it all happen.
Many of you know our second speaker because she grew up at Gray United Methodist Church and she has been our messenger at 4G's before. Becca Mabry is the daughter of Lisa Mabry and a friend to many of us. I do not have the words to do justice to Becca's message to us tonight. It was so inspiring to hear a young woman with this conviction for our Savior and her ability to share it with us. Her mission tonight was to deliver a message to us, "Lord, I Need You" in all things and in all ways. So many times we tell God that we need Him to show us the mission we need to do. A mission is not always a trip to another country or area. We have many missions right here where we live. Pray that God will lead you to see things that you can and need to do to help spread the word and help those you come in contact with every day. Next month we will meet on October 11th with "Hayrides and Scarecrows". We will have soups and chili. 4G's will provide haystacks for dessert. Our speaker will be Anita Fleenor. Anita is in my Sunday school class and she is very nervous about this mission that God has given her to be our speaker. Keep her in your prayers. Please plan to be with us in October and bring someone with you. We need to keep this ministry ALIVE and FLOURISHING at GUMC. Lord, I need you to bless our ladies of 4G's. Linda Come close to God and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8
