November 8, 2016 Thanksgiving is only a couple of weeks away and we will be stuffed with turkey and dressing, so 4G’s decided to have a simple meal tonight of salad, sandwiches, and of course desserts. Everything was so good and everyone enjoyed. Since our theme tonight was “Cancer Awareness”, our tables were adorned with tablecloths of all the colors representing the different cancer fights. Emilee read a list of some of the colors and the cancer awareness they represent. With our theme tonight, it seemed a natural choice for us to have a cancer survivor as our speaker and our witness for the care and attention our Lord and Savior gives us. What an inspirational message we received from Gail Morris. I knew Gail only as the piano player that I loved to hear at the Sulphur Springs Camp Meeting. What a blessing she gave us as she played hymns for us as we enjoyed our meal. You see Gail does not do well with eating. Gail was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2015 and she told us her story and what she has endured since that time. It was hard for the ladies at our meeting to understand and comprehend what this lady has been through the past two years. She had trial after trial during her illness and just when you thought nothing else could happen, she would tell us about another mountain she had to climb. She amazed us with the strength she always received first from God, then from family and friends. She stumbled a couple of times, but she never gave up on her faith that God was always with her and she was never alone. She knew He would take care of her because He had more plans for her life. Gail is the kind of Christian we aspire to be. Totally faithful, totally trusting, and totally sure of His love for her and totally confident in His assurance for her life. I thank God for His healing of this wonderful lady with the gift of music. Our meeting next month will be on December 13th and our theme once again will be “Christmas Morning” because everyone enjoys it so much. We will be having breakfast food. Most important, you can come comfortably in your pajamas because after all it is “Christmas Morning”. We will not have a mission in December because we all search our hearts for our personal missions at Christmas to show love to those in need. Our speaker will be Emilee Little and we know she always delights us with her messages. So please come be with us in December and share the joy by bringing someone with you. Let’s close out 2016 with a full house. God’s Blessings to you, Linda Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3: 5-6
